Education should never fuel weapons! 📣

Come to the streets against Berlin universities’ complicity in genocide in Palestine!

Since October 7th 2023, the Zionist genocidal military assault in Gaza has killed at least 10,500 students, injured 17,000, and more than 500 lecturers have been killed.*

The settler state Israel has launched air strikes against all 12 universities in Gaza, leaving them severely damaged or completely destroyed, and has started to bomb Lebanese university buildings in Beirut.

This war against education aims to deliberately and systematically wipe out the Palestinian education system; Israel is committing Scholasticide.

Berlin universities have not issued any statement to show solidarity with affected Palestinian or Lebanese students, scholars, or civilians. They have not condemned their government’s shipment of weapons to the settler state internationally recognized for committing genocide. Nor have they offered scholarships for Palestinian or Lebanese students of higher education or provided academic aid efforts to local universities in the conflict areas.

They do not care.

On the contrary, they don’t miss any chance to embrace their friendship with the settler colonial project Israel, making it clear to everyone that their institutions stand on the side of neo-colonialism and genocide.

This is the current mission of our university presidents: embody the normal. Uphold the normal. So university business can flow as usual. And when academic freedom in Germany is under attack by the BMBF, you stay silent. When your own lecturers end up on red lists of Germany’s liberal government, for defending academic integrity and basic freedom of speech, you act as if it’s nothing.

For you we are the crack in your Zionist and neo-colonial normality.

Come and make noise against Berlin universities’ silence.

The students united will never be defeated!
