Activestills – Documenting Life, Death & Resistance in Palestine

For nearly two decades, the Activestills collective has documented Israeli colonial violence and Palestinian resistance. This exhibition presents a visual narrative that spans 20 years — from attacks on Gaza and ongoing ethnic cleansing across Palestine, to everyday moments of resilience, dignity, and political struggle.

Last shown at the Finnish Museum of Photography, the exhibition brings together powerful images that challenge dominant media narratives and centre Palestinian experiences, memory, and agency. It also honours the growing number of Palestinian journalists, photographers, and media workers killed since October 2023 for documenting the truth on the ground.

An extensive public programme accompanies the show, including panel discussions, artist talks, and guided tours.
