International Statement from ICSP

In recent months, thousands of students across the world have shown solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli attacks, which intensified from October 2023. To date, this solidarity has taken the form of marches, rallies, and encampments; meanwhile, the genocide escalates and the Zionist state of Israel bombs Rafah, the last ‘safe zone’ in the Gaza Strip.

Due to the urgency of the situation, we have seen the need to unify initiatives and experiences and coordinate actions and tactics among students who have been mobilising in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Thus, an International Coordination of Students for Palestine (ICSP) has been born, to drive a movement of students from around the world organised against the massacre of the Palestinian people, imperialism, and the complicity of our educational institutions and the governments of our countries, whether by action or omission.

From Chile, Spain, France, Mexico, Switzerland, and Brazil, we share the experience of hypocritical governments that condemn genocide but do not take concrete actions and maintain ties with the genocidal state of Israel. Additionally, in all our countries, exist strong military relationships with Israel, through the purchase and sale of weaponry tested and used against the civilian population of the Palestinian people.

We are organised students in different countries around the world who democratically decide the directions of our own mobilisations and our political positions within our assemblies. We call for an international demonstration this Saturday, June 8th, and invite students from across the world organised in committees and camps to join us.

We unite in an internationally coordinated struggle to break ties with the Zionist state of Israel and its educational institutions through which apartheid and the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories are perpetuated.
